BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Two basketball student-athletes from the University of St. Thomas have been selected to D3hoops.com's Team of the Week for their performances to start the season. Senior forward Ryan Boll was selected to the men's team while junior center Hannah Spaulding was named to the women's squad.
Boll (Sr. | Norwood Young America, Minn. | Waconia) averaged 28.5 points, 13 rebounds and four assists while playing 81 of 85 minutes in the Tommies' season opening trip to Ohio. The senior forward registered 18 points and 15 boards against Dickinson to start the year before scoring a career-high 39 points to go along with 11 rebounds and six assists against No. 13-ranked Marietta.
Spaulding (Jr. | Annandale, Minn.) led a comeback win over George Fox on Sunday, collecting 23 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in 35 minutes. The Tommies rallied from a 37-32 halftime deficit to defeat GFU 65-57, holding the Bruins to just 20 second-half points. In her first season as a starter, Spaulding is averaging 21 points and nine rebounds in three games for the nationally-ranked Tommies.
