BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) hockey players have been selected to D3hockey.com's Teams of the Week for their performances over the last seven days. St. Thomas goalies Benjamin Myers and Kenzie Torpy were named to the men's and women's teams, respectively, while Hamline forward Bre Simon was named to the women's squad.
Myers (Jr. | Milwaukee, Wis. | University High) led unranked St. Thomas to two wins over previously unbeaten Augsburg over the weekend. The junior goalie recorded 41 saves in Friday's 2-0 road victory, marking the first time Augsburg has been shut out in its last 70 games. Myers followed up that performance with 37 saves in a 5-4 home win on Saturday, stopping 15-of-16 shots in the final period.
Simon (So. | Elk River, Minn.) scored three goals and added a pair of assists as the Pipers swept St. Catherine over the weekend. The sophomore forward is tied for the MIAC lead with seven goals this season.
Torpy (Jr. | Oregon, Wis.) stopped 48-of-49 shots to help the Tommies take a tie and a shutout win against Augsburg over the weekend. Torpy stopped 24-of-25 shots in Friday's 1-1 overtime tie, then recorded her 40th career victory and eighth career shutout in Saturday's 4-0 victory.
