BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – For the fifth consecutive week, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) is represented in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll by Gustavus Adolphus College (19-3, 5-1) and the University of St. Thomas (19-4, 5-0).

The No. 11-ranked Gusties kicked off the month of October with a 3-0 conference win at St. Olaf (17-8, 4-2) before earning three more victories over the weekend at the Wartburg College Invitational in Waverly, Iowa. The Gusties return to the court on Wednesday against the Tommies, who dropped two spots to No. 19 in this week's AVCA Poll.

A three-set loss at Wisconsin-Eau Claire caused St. Thomas to slide a pair of places in this week's Poll; however, the Tommies regrouped quickly, winning 12 straight sets to cap an undefeated run at the UW-Oshkosh Classic last weekend. The Tommies – undefeated in Conference play thus far in 2017 – travel to St. Peter for a matchup with Gustavus on Wednesday.

Despite suffering a sweep at Saint Benedict (12-7, 5-1) on Friday, the Bethel Royals (11-4, 3-3) still received votes in the latest Poll. Bethel hosts Concordia on Wednesday before heading east for four weekend matches at the North Central Tournament in Naperville, Ill.

The top 11 spots in the AVCA Poll remained unchanged this week, with undefeated Wittenberg (15-0) holding down the No. 1 rank, followed by Colorado College (18-1), Trinity (18-3), Emory (17-2) and Southwestern (19-3).
