BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners in basketball and hockey on Monday. Student-athletes from Carleton and St. Thomas claimed the Conference's weekly honors for Nov. 27-Dec. 4, 2017.

The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their award-winning performances.

The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated and selected each week by the Conference's sports information directors. Throughout the winter season, team sports (basketball and hockey) will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming and diving) announced on Tuesday afternoons.

MIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Kevin Grow
Carleton College
Sr. – Forward
Circle Pines, Minn. | Centennial

Carleton's Kevin Grow averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds while posting a pair of double-doubles last week. The senior forward scored 17 second-half points to help Carleton rally to defeat Hamline on Wednesday before pouring in 29 points and 12 boards in a three-point road loss against No. 10-ranked Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday. The 20-plus-point performance was the 10th of Grow's career, while his 36th career double-double ranks fourth among active NCAA Division III players.

MIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Hannah Spaulding
University of St. Thomas

Annandale, Minn.

Junior center Hannah Spaulding averaged 19.5 points and 11 rebounds in a pair of road wins for the Tommies over the weekend. She registered 17 points, 16 boards, three assists and a pair of steals in 27 minutes against Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Friday and came back the following afternoon with 22 points, six boards and three assists at Hamline. Spaulding leads all MIAC competitors with 20.4 points per game this season.

MIAC Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week
Benjamin Myers
St. Thomas

Milwaukee, Wis. | University High

Benjamin Myers led unranked St. Thomas to two wins over No. 3-ranked and previously unbeaten Augsburg over the weekend. The junior goalie recorded 41 saves in Friday's 2-0 road victory, marking the first time Augsburg has been shut out in its last 70 games. Myers followed up that performance with 37 saves in a 5-4 home win on Saturday, stopping 15-of-16 shots in the final period.

MIAC Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week
Kenzie Torpy
University of St. Thomas

Oregon, Wis.

Junior goalie Kenzie Torpy stopped 48-of-49 shots to help the Tommies take a tie and a shutout win against Augsburg over the weekend. Torpy stopped 24-of-25 shots in Friday's 1-1 overtime tie, then recorded her 40th career victory and eighth career shutout in Saturday's 4-0 victory.
