BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Nine Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Carleton defenders Kamran Kelly and Mark Roth were joined by Macalester defender Jackson White and Gustavus midfielder Luke Laurich on the men's team, while Augsburg forward Ashley St. Aubin, Carleton midfielder Ruby Kazemi, St. Olaf defender Kaylyn Billmeyer, and St. Thomas' Brie Bourdage and McKenna Pelinski were named to the women's team.
These nine student-athletes will now advance to the national ballot with an opportunity to earn Academic All-America distinction next month. To be eligible for the Academic All-District and Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution, and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
The MIAC had two men and two women make the Academic All-District Teams in 2017.
