BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for baseball and softball on Monday. Student-athletes from Augsburg, Hamline, Saint John's, and St. Olaf claimed the Conference's honors for April 15-21, 2019.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the spring season, team sports (baseball, softball) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (tennis, golf, outdoor track and field) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Baseball Player of the Week

Cold Spring, Minn. | Saint John's Prep
Joey Stock batted .565 (13-for-23) with eight extra-base hits, including five home runs, 16 runs batted in, and 10 runs scored as SJU went 5-1 on the road last week in MIAC play. Stock recorded four home runs in three consecutive games and added a solo shot in the week's final contest. The junior slugger currently leads the MIAC in home runs (7) and is tied for fourth in RBI (25) overall, in addition to leading the league in extra-base hits (9) and ranking second in RBI (17) in conference play.
MIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Jamie Kaye threw a pair of complete-game victories for Augsburg during the past week, bringing his season total to six, tied for the lead among MIAC pitchers. Kaye struck out 11 against just one walk with 12 hits and three runs allowed for a 1.93 ERA on the week. Following a 3-1 win over Carleton on Tuesday in which he threw strikes on 64 of his 92 pitches, Kaye tossed another gem in a 4-2 win against Saint John's on Saturday, striking out five with one walk and seven hits allowed to the defending MIAC champion Johnnies.
MIAC Softball Player of the Week
St. Olaf College

Emily Carr drove in 12 runs in a 4-0 week for St. Olaf that saw her post a slash line of .700/.667/1.300. The senior infielder batted in at least three runs and recorded multiple hits in three of the team's four games, including a first-inning grand slam on Saturday that made her the Oles' all-time leader in RBI. During the week, Carr surpassed both the 100-run and 100-RBI milestones, in addition to having four of her seven hits go for extra bases.
MIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Alex Molloy had a big week in the circle for Hamline, recording four wins and one save in five appearances. The sophomore pitched three complete games and worked four innings of a halted contest. Molloy threw 16 strikeouts and maintained a 1.79 ERA in 27.1 innings of work to help the Pipers extend their win streak to six in a row.
