ST. PAUL, Minn. ? In their MIAC opener, the Macalester College men's soccer team came ready to play, defeating #23 Augsburg College 4-1 at Macalester Stadium on Wednesday night. The Scots scored three goals in the first half and did not look back from there, starting the conference season 1-0 and remaining unbeaten against ranked opponents so far this year.

The Macalester College volleyball team fell to Carleton on the road in four sets, 25-19, 25-11, 24-26, 25-10 in the first MIAC match for both teams Wednesday night at West Gym. The Scots are now 2-10 overall and 0-1 in the conference, while the Knights improve to 2-8, 1-0 MIAC.

Macalester College Athletics and the M Club will add four new members into the Hall of Fame at the Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, September 21. The inductees are Bob Berquist '58 (football, basketball, baseball), Nick Adams '96 (soccer), Anna Bacho Flory '00 (women's soccer) and Kaela Schramm '07 (track & field).
