Brian Krause, St. Thomas

University of St. Thomas pitcher Brian Krause (Soph., RHP, Appleton, Wis./North HS) earned a save and had three solid outings to help the Tommies go 4-1 and claim the outright MIAC championship. In Saturday's key game-two win over Concordia, the Tommie closer got the final 11 outs (3 2/3 innings) and allowed one hit and one walk on a combined two-hit shutout in a 7-0 win. He also pitched in both games vs. Hamline. He came on in the fifth inning with two runners on base and UST leading 2-0 and got an inning-ending pop-up. On the week he pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed no runs, three hits and one walk with three strikeouts. The 14th-ranked Tommies, 27-8-1, are the top seed for this week's MIAC playoffs in Dundas and Northfield.
Sean Lindstrom, St. Thomas

University of St. Thomas junior Sean Lindstrom (RHP, Cedar, Minn./St. Francis HS) had two complete-game victories, winning two tight games, and allowed no earned runs and just four hits in 16 innings, to help the Tommies move into sole possession of the MIAC lead. He allowed just a bunt single in Tuesday's nine-inning, 1-0 win over St. Mary's (9 IP, 0R, 1H, 3W, 6K). He allowed three hits and one unearned run in Sunday's 3-1 win over Gustavus -- a game tied until the bottom of the sixth inning (7IP, 1R, 0ER, 3H, 2W, 2K). He retired 16 of the last 17 batters. Lindstrom leads the conference in ERA -- in three starts he's 3-0 with no earned runs in 22.2 innings. The Tommies, 23-7-1 overall and 14-2 in the conference, have clinched a playoff berth for the fourth year in a row.
Tony LePage, Carleton

Carleton College senior pitcher Tony LePage (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld HS) tossed a six-hit shutout, going the distance in a nine-inning, 1-0 win over Gustavus on Saturday. The senior fanned 13 in notching his third complete game in MIAC play in four starts this year (his only non-complete game was a 10-inning, two day affair with St. Thomas). He came back in the second game, pitching one inning in allowing two runs, one earned, in absorbing the loss in relief. LePage is 2-2 with an 0.82 ERA in league play, as opposing batters are hitting only .223 against him.
Matt Johnson, Saint John's

Saint John's University junior pitcher Matt Johnson (Plymouth, Minn.) pitched two complete games wins last week, including a 2-0 one-hit shut out against Saint Mary's on April 8. Johnson faced the minimum 21 batters against the Cardinals, striking out seven. Johnson pitched a complete game and only allowed an unearned run in a 6-1 win over Gustavus on April 12. For the week, Johnson pitched 14 innings, allowing no earned runs on seven hits, while striking out 11 and walking none. The Johnnies went 3-2 during the week and are now 12-8 overall and 4-4 in the MIAC. Johnson is now 4-1 on the season with a 3.00 ERA and 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA in MIAC play.
Jeremy Hinderks, Concordia

Concordia-Moorhead College junior pitcher Jeremy Hinderks (Renville, Minn./Renville County West HS) pitched a complete-game shutout against St. John's on Sunday in his only appearance of the week. Hinderks held the Johnnies, who were ranked fifth in the Midwest Region entering the game, to four hits while striking out seven. He walked two batters and faced only 27 St. John's hitters. After working out of a bases-loaded jam in the second inning, Hinderks only allowed two hits in the remaining five innings and didn't allow a single runner past second base. It was Hinderks' second straight shutout and moves his scorelss inning streak to 15. He is currently 4-1 on the year with a 2.25 earned-run average.
