BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Bethel relief pitcher Jake Marsh has been selected to D3baseball.com's honorable mention All-America team, the organization announced this month.
Marsh (Plymouth, Minn. | Wayzata) was one of just three relievers and 12 pitchers overall to be honored on any of the Preseason All-America squads. The junior right-hander made 19 appearances last season, totaling 32 innings pitched while allowing just three total runs in those 19 outings. Marsh gave up 22 hits - five of which were doubles with no triples or home runs allowed - while issuing just four walks against 24 strikeouts. His 0.84 ERA was the lowest on a Bethel pitching staff which led all of college baseball and set a new MIAC record with a 1.98 team earned run average. After just two seasons, Marsh is already the Royals' all-time leader in saves with 16 for his career.
