NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Junior Jesse Retzlaff of the St. Olaf College baseball team was selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday, becoming the first Ole in the eight years of the award to be named to the weekly honor roll.

In his lone start of the week, Retzlaff held Augsburg to just one hit in seven innings of work on Wednesday before the game was cut short due to darkness. After yielding a leadoff single, the junior did not allow a hit the rest of the way until the game was halted to win his fourth-straight start to begin the season and lower his ERA to 1.48.

Retzlaff is tied for the MIAC lead with four wins this season and is one of three pitchers in the conference to be 4-0, along with teammate Sam Westermeyer and James Green of Saint Mary's (Minn.). The junior's 1.48 ERA ranks third in the MIAC, trailing Jake Dickmeyer of Saint John's (0.66) and Westermeyer (1.42).

Through four appearances, Retzlaff has allowed just 16 hits and four earned runs in 24.1 innings of work. The Oles have won his four starts by a combined score of 43-5 and are off to their best start to conference play (5-1) since 2011.
