Saint John's grad Brady Brink signs with professional team in Germany

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Former Saint John’s University basketball student-athlete Brady Brink (Waconia, Minn.) signed with Team FC Schalke 04, a professional team in the National “A” League of Germany. Brink graduated from SJU with a management degree in May.

 A 2007-08 All-MIAC first team and All-Defensive team selection, Brink started all 26 games and averaged 17.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game last season. Brink led the Johnnies in field-goal percentage (.521), rebounds per game (8.4), blocked shots (36) and scoring (17.4 ppg). In addition, Brink finished in the top five of the MIAC in blocked shots (3rd, 1.38 bpg), defensive rebounds (3rd, 6.04 drpg), rebounds (8.4 rpg) and minutes played (4th, 35.42 mpg). The 2006-07 MIAC Sixth Man of the Year, Brink was also named a semifinalist for the 2008 Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup, which honors excellence in community service and extracurricular activities.

SJU ended the 2007-08 season with a 14-12 record and an 11-9 mark in the MIAC with its 17th appearance in the MIAC Playoffs. Head coach Jim Smith begins his 45th season in Collegeville with a career record of 685-475 (.591) and a 517-283 (.646) record in MIAC games in 2008-09.
