BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Saint John's junior guard David Stokman has been selected as a Preseason All-American by

Stokman (Jr. | Maple Lake, Minn.) is coming off a 2016-17 campaign in which he was named First Team All-MIAC and a All-West Region guard. He finished second in all of NCAA Division III with a .503 three-point shooting percentage and ranked ninth in the nation with a free-throw shooting percentage of .885. The Johnnies' scoring leader started in all 28 games for SJU last season, averaging 18.1 points per game with 11 20-point contests while eclipsing 30 points in a game five times.

The junior guard was named to's Fourth Team Preseason All-America this year, placing Stokman among the projected top-20 men's basketball student-athletes in all of Division III to start the season.

Stokman and Saint John's will tipoff the 2017-18 season on Friday against St. Scholastica at St. Cloud State's Halenbeck Hall.
