St. Paul, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced the 2007 MIAC Men's Soccer Awards today, November 9, 2007. Leading the 20-player All-Conference team isGustavus Adolphus senior forward Mike Butterworth. Butterworth was named the 2007 MIAC Player of the Year after leading the Gusties to a share of the MIAC regular season title.

Carleton head coach Bob Carlson was chosen as the 2007 MIAC Coach of the Year. In 2007, Carlson led the Knights to an undefeated record during conference play, Carleton’s first conference title and a school record for wins.

As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC announces the second annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for men's soccer. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
