Javan Copley, Hamline

Hamline University first-year runner Javan Copley (Arden Hills, Minn.) broke the Hamline school record in the 200 meter dash on Saturday afternoon at the St. Olaf Qualifier. His time of 22.62 currently ranks second in the MIAC.

Brandon Gleason, Hamline

Week of: 2008-02-25

Hamline University junior Brandon Gleason (Mantorville, Minn.) ran 4:14.30 in the mile run at the Snowshoe Open at the University of Minnesota on Friday. His time meets the NCAA Provisional mark and currently ranks him 10th in the NCAA. Brandon’s incredible return from last year’s season-ending injury continues. His time is not only the fastest in the MIAC this year, but it is the fastest mile run by a MIAC runner since the NCAA switched from the 1500m to the One Mile Run.

Doboul Ruon, St. Olaf

Week of: 2008-02-18

St. Olaf College first-year Doboul Ruon (Northfield, Minn.) won the mile at the Tostrud Classic at St. Olaf on Saturday in 4:17.84. It was a personal best in the mile and just off the NCAA provisional standard of 4:16.00.

Dan Greeno, Bethel

Week of: 2008-02-11

Bethel University sophomore Dan Greeno (St. Michael, Minn.) broke Dave Borner's school record, running a 8:39.10 in the 3000m on Saturday at the Coca Cola Classic at UW-River Falls. Greeno led from start to finish to record a four second win over teammate Carl Gladitsch.

Michael Sanders, Carleton

Week of: 2008-02-11

Carleton College sophomore Michael Sanders (Cedar Falls, Iowa) won the 600-yard dash in 1:14.97 at the Heart of the Meets on Saturday. Sanders finished ahead of teammate Tom Ballinger in the 600y before joining Ballinger on victorious 4x200m and 4x400m relays to help Carleton secure the team title.

Chris deLaubenfels, Gustavus

Week of: 2008-02-04

Gustavus Adolphus College senior Chris deLaubenfels (Mount Vernon, Iowa) won the 3000 meter run at the Minnesota State-Mankato Open in 8:46.00 on Friday night. He then came back on Saturday to take second place in the 5000 meters in 15:03.68. Both marks were personal bests.

Brandon Gleason, Hamline

Week of: 2008-01-28

Hamline University junior Brandon Gleason (Mantorville, Minn.) returned to action in style with an impressive 8:34.45 in the 3000 Meters at Iowa State on Saturday . It is only fitting that he returned to the track where he achieved an NCAA qualifying mark in the 5000m last February just prior to being involved in a season ending car accident. Brandon was hit by a car on a training run. Gleason’s time is tops in the MIAC in what is shaping up to be one the deepest 3000m fields in MIAC history.

David Swanson, St. Olaf

Week of: 2008-01-21

St. Olaf College senior David Swanson (Eden Prairie, Minn.) won the 3000 Meters at the Triangular at St. Olaf in 8:40.05. This was a personal best by 17 seconds and ranks #2 on the All-Time 3000 Meter list at St. Olaf. Swanson was an NCAA national qualifier in cross country after receiving All-MIAC and All-Region honors this past fall.

Neil Atzinger, St. Thomas

Week of: 2008-01-14

University of Saint Thomas senior Neil Atzinger (Ann Arbor, Mich.), competing at the University of Minnesota's Northwest Open placed third in the mile in 4:18.04, just off the NCAA provisional time of 4:16.00.
