NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The University of St. Thomas men's track and field team was crowned champion of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) at the 2019 Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon in Northfield.

The Tommies scored 185 points as a team to remain the only program in MIAC history ever to win the conference meet. UST has now won 35 men's track and field MIAC titles. Carleton finished second in the men's standings with 105.5 points, followed closely by Saint John's in third with 103. Bethel had 98 points to finish in fourth place, with Gustavus in fifth with 68 and Hamline and Concordia tied for sixth with 53.5 points. St. Olaf finished in eighth-place with 50 points, followed by Saint Mary's with 33, Macalester with 27.5, and Augsburg with three points.

Four different MIAC teams boasted at least one individual champion on Saturday, with a trio of Tommies claiming first-place finishes. Meanwhile, Drew Schoenbauer played a key role in Saint John's leap into third-place with wins in the 200-meter dash and as part of the Johnnies' victorious 4x200 relay team. Carleton sophomore Lucas Mueller earned his second individual MIAC title in as many nights as well with a victory in the 3,000 meters to go along with Friday's win in the mile run. Mueller also took home All-Conference honors as part of the Knights' distance medley relay team.

The top three individuals in each event and the first-place relay team automatically earn All-Conference honors, and the 4th-through 6th-place finishers in each open event and 2nd-through-6th place relay teams will be named All-Conference Honorable Mention. Saturday's All-Conference performers are listed below, with the Honorable Mention (4-6 individual, 2-6 relay) available in the results.
