BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Two Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) women's hockey programs are ranked among the nation's top-10 teams while two more are receiving votes in the latest national polls, released on Monday.
Gustavus is ranked sixth in the country by USCHO.com and No. 8 in the latest D3hockey.com Poll. The Gusties returned from Thanksgiving break to sweep Bethel in a pair of games last weekend and match up with No. 5-ranked Wisconsin-River Falls in a two-game series this week.
St. Thomas is No. 9 in the USCHO.com Poll and No. 10 in D3hockey.com's rankings this week after recording a win and a tie against a tough Augsburg squad over the weekend. The Tommies are off this weekend but will take to the ice against River Falls next week.
Hamline and Augsburg are also receiving votes in the latest polls. Augsburg had won six in a row before falling to St. Thomas over the weekend while Hamline edged St. Catherine by a 7-0 margin in their two-game series.
