BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – While several Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) track and field programs got a jump start on the indoor season back in December, the schedule turns into an eight-week grind on Friday, as conference teams begin competition for 2019.

MIAC runners, leapers, and throwers will compete in more than two dozen meets combined over the next two months in preparation for the 2019 MIAC Championships at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. The Championships are set for February 21-23, 2019. The University of St. Thomas is the defending MIAC champion for both the men's and women's meets.

Leading up to the 2019 Championships, the MIAC will honor outstanding individual performances each Tuesday with the announcement of the men's and women's indoor track and field Athletes of the Week. Weekly selections will begin on Tuesday, January 12.
