BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Volleyball, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Gustavus senior Nora Holtan, Bethel senior Tina Hoppe, and Saint Benedict sophomore Hunter Weiss represented the MIAC on the 2018 Team.
The District 6 team features student-athletes from Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in early December.
To be eligible for the Academic All-District and Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his or her current institution, and be nominated by his or her sports information director.
