Lutsen, Minn. / Lutsen
St. Catherine's Ailee Larson (Lusten, Minn.) continued her incredible junior season with another great performance - this time in front of the home fans. Larson was the second overall finisher and top MIAC runner Saturday at the St. Kate's Invite in St. Paul, Minn., and her time was the best by a Wildcat at the event since 2009. As a result, Larson was named the MIAC Women's Cross Country Athlete-of-the-Week for the second week in a row, and third time this season.
Larson completed the 4k course at the St. Kate's Invite in 14:23.47 to continue her string of top-five finishes. The Wildcat standout finished 16 seconds ahead of the next conference finisher, and behind only a talented runner from Luther, which is ranked sixth in the region. The winner, Luther's Tricia Serres, finished 20th at the NCAA championships last season. Larson adds her latest MIAC weekly honor to her previous awards on Oct. 8 and Sept. 17.
St. Catherine and its standout junior have just one race left on
the schedule before the 2013 MIAC Championships, which will be held
Nov. 2 at Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul. Saturday, St.
Catherine travels to Northhampton, Mass., for the Seven Sisters
